I prefer being ICT specialist on permanent basis, n i think thats wat Mr Seegum is planning but one thing should be clear, all these things should be ready on paper before the election or else the Ministry might play a bit with us!!!
Since we are already trained as ICT teachers why should be re-trained to work as a GP teacher? I think that we should remain ICT teacher and that also we should back the 4 years as pensionable. Also I think that if ever we are given another contract to sign next year we should organise 'manifestations', 'greve de la faim' or even harder action to tamper with the government. or else they will enjoy on our head. Concerning the resignation of the 2 members I am finding as if there has been some "magouille".in fact in the letter(Restructuring of members) you mentioned only 6 executive members but as far as the registrar of associations is concerned an association should at least have 12 executive members. i hope u have had a glance at the recent GTU election, you would have got an idea. therefore, isn't the ICCTN in an illegal situation whereby rules of the registrar of association are not being fully put into practice.hope that the secretary or the president will provide an ansmwer to this very crucial issue??? I will like to put some 'eclaircissement' about few comments that, u members have sent.
EXECUTIVE MEMBERS: We do have the right according to our rules and regulation to have only 6persons forming the Executive committee.
About the resignation of the 2 members there no "magouille" at all. they have resign by themselve only because they dont share the majority committee members point of view. therefore i am saying it high that ICTTN is not going against any rules until now.
GTU is saying that they are fighting to let us remain ICT Specialised teacher, whats the real purpose behind that? is it to to defend ICT teacher or is it to give the GP teachers their 75min free time every week??
For those asking what will happen to us after our contract here is a logical answer from me to u: If we are converted into GP teachers, will GP teachers or GTU accept to lose 75 min free every week??How much are the GP teachers trained to teach ICT??The only solution, if ever we are converted into GP teachers, is to stop the ICT project. is it a realistic solution??with all these questions and with ur own answers, is it not logical that the only solution is to let us be ICT Specialist teacher.
ICTTN is more concern about discussion that will arise concerning our conditions of work should we turn out to be specialist teacher. and for this matter no other group, association, union etc can deal our condition of work better than ourself. this is a fundamental reason why we need the great support of all ict teacher, for us to be more than powerful in later negociation. BEWARE of those that will make u feel that u have no power and that ur association is useless. if it happen that the ICTTN becomes useless, it will be the fault of us all, i.e us as members.
what will happen to ICTTN if our post is not confirmed???? what will happen to ICTTN if our post is changed to GP,what will be the role of our Association? Are we recognise as a Syndicate? Till now how many ICT Teachers unnormal tranfers have you stopped? I have felt that the association has done nothing 4 us till now? A suggestion why not join GTU if we are not a Syndicate
Througout this four years ending April next we heard only about talking about our future post but who have thinks of the work that we are doing in the school with the minimum of scholastic material that the GOVT has offered us. However, this particular situation is of immediate concerned. The ICCTN should work in close collaboration with all its members to bring about clarity in our situation so that we are inform by the end of the third semester what will be our situation in the coming year. Whether we will be enrolled as ICT Specialist Teacher and General Purpose teacher.
Working conditions is very hard in our school. We are considered as different and we are rejected in every decision and we are as if not subject of concerned but matter of reject.
i think we should remain as specialist ict teacher. why gp now. why is gtu "fighting" 4 us now when before they were jealous of us. they r only using us. i think gsa is a better choice. we should be united as the icttn as we r of the same.

Mr Lollbeeharry told me on Thurs 24/02/2005 while he was campaigning for the GTU Elections 2005 that ICT teachers will be converted to GP teachers.
